- Account Information: Full name, email address, mobile phone number, gender, date of birth, bio, and password (stored using secure Argon2id cryptographic hashing).
- Business & Listing Data: Business name, category, address, locality, contact numbers, WhatsApp link, website, operational hours, business logos, and product catalog details that you voluntarily submit for community listing.
- Location Data: With your permission, we collect precise or approximate GPS location data while using the app to calculate distances to nearby businesses and rank listings by proximity. Location is not tracked in the background.
- Photos & Media: Images you select or capture from your camera to upload as profile avatars, business logos, gallery photos, and product images.
- Device & Usage Data: Device identifier (UUID), operating system version, push notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging - FCM), and app interaction logs for performance monitoring and security.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information exclusively for the following legitimate purposes:
- To create and manage your community member account.
- To verify identity and prevent spam/fraud via Email OTP verification.
- To publish and display your approved business listings and product catalogs in the community directory.
- To provide proximity-based search allowing members to discover businesses near them.
- To generate your digital membership E-Card and QR code for community networking.
- To send service notifications, security alerts, and community announcements via push notifications and email.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We respect your personal data and do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties or advertisers.
Your information is shared only in the following contexts:
- Public Community Directory: Information you explicitly publish as part of your business listing (such as business phone, WhatsApp, address, and product details) is publicly visible to community members to facilitate customer contact.
- Service Providers: We work with trusted cloud and infrastructure providers who adhere to strict data security standards:
- Google Firebase & Google Cloud: For cloud messaging (push notifications) and Google Single Sign-On.
- Hostinger Cloud Infrastructure: For secure API hosting and database storage.
- Legal Obligations: We may disclose information if required by applicable law, regulation, or legal request.
4. Data Security & Storage
We implement robust technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information:
- All network communications between the mobile application and our servers are encrypted using Industry-Standard TLS 1.3 (HTTPS).
- Passwords and authentication tokens are securely salted and hashed.
- Access to backend administration systems is restricted with role-based access control (RBAC) and audit logging.
5. Account Deletion & Data Retention Policy
You have full control over your account and personal data. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:
- In-App Deletion: Open the SGSS Members app → go to Profile → tap Delete Account → confirm deletion.
- Web / Email Request: You can submit a deletion request anytime by visiting our Account Deletion Request Page or emailing us directly at info@gurudasikh.com with your registered email address.
Upon receiving your request, your profile, personal details, device tokens, and active sessions will be permanently purged from our primary database within 7 working days.
6. Permissions Requested by Mobile App
- Location (`ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION` / `ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION`): Used to calculate distance to nearby businesses while browsing the directory.
- Camera & Gallery (`CAMERA` / `READ_MEDIA_IMAGES`): Used only when you choose to take or upload a profile picture, business logo, or product image.
- Notifications (`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`): Used to deliver community updates, status alerts for listings, and member communications.
7. Children's Privacy & Child Safety Standards (CSAE Prevention)
Our services are intended for general community members aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13.
SGSS Members enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). Any detected violation will result in immediate permanent account termination and referral to law enforcement.
